I’m an educator with a Masters and Professional Diploma in Education and a law degree from Fordham University. As a school-based counselor with more than twenty years of experience in high school education, I’ve worked with honor students, students who struggle, first-generation applicants, artists, musicians, recruited athletes, and students with learning disabilities and physical and mental health issues. I’ve guided hundreds of students through all stages of the college admission process.

I learned from the journey I took with my own children that the college application process can easily become stressful, but it need not be so. I'm passionate about helping high school students and their families navigate the process with good information and a positive attitude.

As an independent counselor, I guide students as they

  • select courses to create a solid high school transcript

  • write an authentic, impactful resume and hone interview skills

  • build a college list

  • strategize about recommendations from teachers and others

  • craft a powerful personal statement (the college essay) and supplemental essays

  • complete all applications carefully and thoroughly

  • manage various types of admissions and deadlines

  • research and review financial aid opportunities and apply for scholarships

  • reach a final decision that is right for each student and family

  • develop self-knowledge and confidence to succeed in college.
